About Small Space, Big Taste
Hey, I’m Rae and I’m on a mission to help you live a big life in a small space. What began out of necessity (I was broke with student loans) has become a lifestyle I love.
For the last decade, my husband Ryan and I have been challenging the status quo of what it means to be successful. Rather than spending money on a big apartment, car, and closet, we embraced minimalism and got scrappy with our spending. An avid cook, I figured out how to prepare delicious meals in my tiny kitchen along the way. The time we spent living in 240 square feet taught me that I’m happiest when I focus on personal growth and creating memories—not collecting possessions.
So instead of spending my time taking care of things, I create things. And instead of spending my money trying to look successful, I focus my funds on starting a business, traveling, and early retirement.
Right now I’m my own boss living and working in a 400 square foot Manhattan studio (I’m still married so Ryan’s there too). I work part-time as a product marketer for tech companies and the rest of my day is spent on Small Space, Big Taste.
Small Space, Big Taste defines a new way of living that is equal parts honesty, audacity, and creativity. It takes work and thoughtfulness to go against the grain, but the result is more freedom! It's time to re-design how you spend, eat, live, and travel to get the most out of your resources and this blog will help you do that.
